Euroasia Investment Partners Chairman Ilirjan Koxhioni visited the Chongqing Gongwangzhihui Additive Manufacturing Technology Research Institute, where he attended a presentation and toured the facility.
The article describes Chongqing as an important centre in China’s rapidly developing 3D-printing industry. The city has supported applications in medicine, construction and aviation, including work on titanium printing powders and advanced medical 3D-printing facilities.
Of particular interest to Euroasia Investment Partners were developments in customised medical implants. By combining CT scanning and computer modelling, 3D printing can produce patient-specific devices such as hip replacements and jaw implants more quickly and effectively than many conventional manufacturing methods.
